We ordered the exact same model that we had had for 12+ years, but it doesn't seem to have the same capacity, despite the specs saying it does. It is slightly smaller inside, with rather poorly designed little shelves on the left door --- so narrow that they can only hold very thin bottles of condiments. The adjustable shelving in the main part of the refrigerator is also poorly designed, with only two ways to adjust the shelves vertically. Cartons of milk or juice, for example, do not fit well; the shelf is either too low or far too high, with wasted space. The freezer has a drawer inside that has to be moved every time I want to get something from the larger part of the freezer below that, rather than having a separate drawer that doesn't need to be opened every time I open the freezer, like my old fridge had. It is difficult to find separate areas of the freezer for ice cream or smaller frozen items, but we're dealing with it. Other than these daily annoyances, the fridge is fine. It is a bit more sleek than our last one, and the exterior water and ice dispenser is much easier to keep clean. In general, we're pleased with our purchase. I do wish that GE had more selections in the slate color; we might have chosen something different if we had had another option in that color.

I bought the complete GE Adora package in their new color slate about 12 years ago. I love GE products but I™€™ve had an issue with the icemaker I actually sold the original refrigerator and bought a newer model thinking that it would be better and unfortunately it™€™s worse There™€™s a little sliding switch that turns the icemaker on and off and it moves by itself. I™€™m assuming vibration from the refrigerator causes it to slide over to the off position and then you go to get ice and there™€™s no ice because it turned itself off, and you didn™€™t know. We had a few other issues and customer service and technicians were great but on the final trip when they came out about the icemaker, they said that it was a known issue, but there was no fix and that I could just put a piece of duct tape on it!! I really expected more out of GE. To tell me after spending thousands of dollars on your appliances, you want me to fix it myself with a piece of duct tape. I™€™m at the point where I™€™m ready to buy another refrigerator and looking at the different models that GE has they do have a more expensive model that has a different type of icemaker, but I don™€™t know if I can justify spending that extra money so I™€™m seriously debating on buying a different brand. I agree with a lot of the other reviewers that have said there™€™s difficulty with the drawers, not sliding good and unfortunately, I don™€™t Think lubrication would help any

Never had a problem with my old frig that I had for 18 years, gave I to a nice couple wish I had it back. I keep a record of what's in all of my freezer so I don't keep door open very long. Replaced an older same model. This new one has super deep shelf which might be a problem for the small light to cover all the real estate. I looked for a flashlight conector but it didn't have any. The shelf design is not good. Its hard to have enough room for anything tall, like a gallon of milk.. it also makes funny noises while running through its cycles.

I bought the 26.something cubic foot version of this refrigerator 10 years ago in slate and absolutely loved it. But after 10 yrs, when the fridge stopped cooling and my repairman told me to buy a new one (thank goodness the freezer still worked), I wanted to replace it with the same thing. However, now it came in 25.x and 27.x cubic feet so I went with this 25.x model since we're empty nesters now. There's not much to like about the new fridge except the color. First of all, it is too small. It barely holds stuff for 2 people (and we're not big on leftovers, so I'm just talking soda, juice, condiments, fruit, vegetables, cheese, yogurt, etc.) The bins are too shallow and aren't even deep enough to hold a head of lettuce. The wide bin at the bottom feels especially shallow. My biggest complaint is with the freezer - I can't believe how much smaller it is. The bins seem shallower and less wide. I can't keep all my stuff in there anymore and I have to use my downstairs freezer a lot. Ironically, this fridge appears to take up as much space as the old one, so I wonder how 1 cu ft. less can look the same on the outside yet feel so much smaller on the inside. Another thing I hate are the drawers. They are all clear plastic (vs. having white sides) and feel so cheap and flimsy compared to the old fridge. The drawers do not glide out easily and smoothly like with the old fridge. The drawer in the freezer is awful. Every time you open the freezer, the freezer drawer gets pulled out automatically. Who thought that was a good idea? What I use most often (bread, rolls) is in the bin part and I have to shove that drawer back in every time to access the bins, and every time I mutter "I hate this refrigerator". And of course, the drawer does not slide back in easily and requires a good push. Lastly, this appliance is loud. It makes this groaning/buzzing sound off and on, mostly on, that is distracting. Is this normal? I'm glad my bedroom is upstairs. It sounds like I should give it a whack to make it stop buzzing. I rated this 2 stars because it does cool and freeze, and the water dispenser works fine. Maybe if I hadn't had such a good experience with the 26.x cu ft. model I wouldn't be so disappointed with this one.

Time to rate the GE Energy Star 25.7 Cu.Ft French Door Refrigerator - Mofel #GFE26JMMXFES, It's has been over a month+ days when purchased. As for the purchase and delivery went smooth 8+.  As for the exterior appearance 8+. I bought this refrigerator without being able to see in person. There was no floor model available at any of the Home Depots in my area.  Color chosen is 8+, hardware 7+, water, ice, temperature display 8+. As for the ice dispensing a 4.  Really disappointing with the ice maker dispensing. Every time when using the ice dispenser it releases water and ice drippings.  Especially "crushed" ice.  It not only drips ice all over the bottom tray. I have to place a towel to remove the tray to wipe down ice and dripping everytime I use the ice maker feature. I use this feature throughout each day. This was one of the biggest feature when deciding which brand and highest rating for my purchase. I had a well known brand refrigerator for over 16 years and the ice dispenser worked like a charm. Last with today's technology and the prices we pay. You expect a new refrigerator would be its highest level. I feel like I went backwards.   As for the interior and freezer 8+ As for the size 6+. It is so big and bulky. I hope GE customer service will read my rating and contact me to see if the ice dispensing can be corrected - repaired. I await your response.  I will try to attempt contacting GE directly.  It hasn't been easy to contact GE.

I purchased this refrigerator after extensive research, and I have to say I couldn't be happier with my choice. The refrigerator is sleek and stunning in appearance (love the slate look). It's so gorgeous that we call it "Big Sexy". I've never had a refrigerator with water and ice dispensers in the front. I wasn't sure if I would like it, but I'm a big fan now. Love the crushed ice feature. Inside the refrigerator it is brightly lit due to the LED lights and it's so spacious in both the refrigerator and freezer compartments.

Bad freezer pull out design

We purchased this product as a newer version of our old one because we really liked it. However, the bottom freezer pull out drawer is very janky and cheap. It is not a smooth rollout and requires a lot of jerking and noises as it pulls out. Very disappointed in this feature of the new model. Love everything else so far.

While this refrigerator works fine, it is annoying. The motor accelerates oddly, going faster then slower repeatedly. There is no grille or sweep bar under the front and it sits an inch and a half off the floor. This means that Hot Wheels and Legos and all sorts of things fit under there! It also has white parts at the bottom that are visible from the sides. I™€™ve tried coloring them with a sharpie, but they are still visible. Just annoying! Inside, the shelves are not fully adjustable like my 8 year old GE French door was. There are just a couple of tracks molded in that you can pick. I prefer more customization.
