Pros and Cons

Pros - Feature rich and smartphone app works great. Cons - This thing rattles so much I have to use noise canceling earbuds just to keep my sanity. It's mounted into the window properly and only rattles with compressor engaged, not in fan mode. Unsure if design flaw or unique to this unit. Without the rattling, it would be 5-stars, but full 2 stars deducted due to the noise.

I liked everything about it, except the noise, when I tried it it was perfectly fine but when I start using it more often there is a whistle noise. not sure why or if it is only me have this problem. it is bothering while you are sleeping or working and there is a background whistle all the time.

Installed >2 weeks. When initial start all seemed quiet and cooling as expected. After 15 minutes there was a deep growling sound when on Auto-Eco-Quiet, continues with same settings noise continues! Change to Manual-Cool-Fan Speed, Speed must adjusted for Load.now we have a (PUT-PUT) sound that can be quieted with fan speed, SOMETIMES. NOISE AT NIGHT!!!

The unit works vary well accept for when it is on energy saver it tend to turn completely off right in the middle of the day and the average day is over 100 degrees at this point so by the time I realize the AC has been off for a few hours the room stays hot the rest of the day please however, the unit is extremely quiet. You can barely hear it run, and when it isn™€™t cool mode, it will refrigerate my room if I™€™m not careful and I love the app. It is awesome to be able to control the unit from work when I forget to turn it off, and it even shows me the power usage all around good product

When I first installed this unit it ran OK, it just didn't seem to cool as much as the BTU rating of 10,100 BTUs. It cooled more like a eight or 9000 BTU unit. After I used it for about three weeks I was in the house one day and I heard a loud bang crash. I turned around to see what it happened and at first I did not realize what the noise was. I started looking around in the area of the air conditioner I noticed that the air conditioner had a terrible vibration. After further investigation I found that something had happened to the condenser fan blade and it had caused the fan blade to go out of balance and was therefore shaking the unit when the condenser fan motor was running. I returned the unit back to Lowe's and they gave me a full refund without any hassle. I was really surprised! In summary I would suggest not buying this unit.

I like the product description. I hope it lives up to GE's reputation. The first thing I wanted to know was how to get the AC out of the Box. The instructions were not very detailed. I did not know what to do with the foam side panels. I had to watch some videos on installation, but they did not answer my questions. I do not like the buttons. I have had bad experience with soft buttons. But it may help keep dirt out of the buttons as they are not mechanical.

Sudden unexplained crash of unit

Worked great with no problems for thirteen months then one day it simply quit working and even though the light on the plug to show it has electricity supply the front face board buttons no longer lit up or responded to touch and unit would not power on.

This is the crappiest AC unit I have ever purchased. It has now broken down on me twice. Both times the unit worked for a few weeks then proceeded to stop being able to cool. It would turn on but the fan inside had stopped working. I should have went with a different company instead of purchasing this unit again.

We are basically happy with this AC although it is much noisier than we expected. It definitely cools our living room well, and doesn't need to be on high. But about two weeks in it started making a knocking noise when set on a lower speed.

I absolutely love my new window unit! It will literally freeze out a room! Our big air conditioner went out and the house was too hot to even sit in. We finally hooked this up and it even cooled off the rest of the house, which is small but it did the job! Now it™€™s not freezing cold everywhere but it definitely took out the humidity and it™€™s now in the 70s around the house while my room stays at a cool 64. It™€™s absolutely perfect! I also love being able to work everything from my phone. It sent me a notification to clean the filter! That was awesome! I do feel like it is quiet, but unfortunately I have an old window where I put it and it sounds like a helicopter trying to land. I love the different features. Eco mode and quiet. They are awesome! Definitely worth every penny!
